Do we need custom software, or will an off-the-shelf portal do?

If your data lives in one system and your customers have simple accounts, an off-the-shelf portal may be fine, and we will say so. Custom makes sense when information is spread across a CRM, an ERP and a service tool, or customers have multiple sites, resellers or their own pricing.
